A black box with a folding table and six chairs. Synopsis As part of the rehearsal process, the director,
David, holds table talk sessions with a reading of the playwright’s notes,
and partial readings of the play coupled with a bit of blocking to
‘flesh-out’ the characters and discover the strength of his actors. The
actors switch roles through the table talk and four of the blocked readings.
During this process he realizes more than he bargained for in the revelation
of prejudice, avarice, discrimination, intolerance and bigotry: perfect for
the requirements of the playwright, himself. By the end of the play the
group of disparate actors becomes a tightly knit, cohesive assemblage: an
ensemble. There are no nude or bloody scenes. There is no dialogue
between scenes, only action. Author Biography

M. Kelly
is
the owner and Artistic director of the award-winning Thistle Dew Theatre, and founder of
the Thistle Dew Playwright’s Workshop.
