Plot Summary

Deep in the bowels of a nondescript government office, three bureaucrats from The Department of Great Thinkers Thinking Great Thoughts run our country. Every thought comes directly from these near geniuses. The problem is, of course, that these are bureaucrats and they don’t ever produce anything - including thoughts! The lowly night janitor discovers their lair and hilarity ensues. A timely commentary on government in action, or inaction, as the case might be. We think.

Author Biography

WILLIAM ARNOLD was trained as an actor, but due to his habit of rewriting his lines, was told that he should write his own stuff. Primarily considered a composer, Bill dabbles in straight plays when the mood takes him. "ABC: A Bureaucratic Comedy" was his first play and since then, he has written two full-length musicals: "Lint! The Musical" (with Scott Auden) and "Night of the Musical Dead" (both produced at the Hole in the Wall Theater, New Britain, CT.) In his spare time, Arnold edits Shakespeare's plays such as "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Richard III" (also published with JAC), due to his belief that "brevity is the soul of wit". "Attack of the Space Nymphos from Uranus" is Bill's latest play, slated to premiere in January, 2013. Bill Arnold is the lead guitarist for the band The Rude Mechanicals, whose Irish-themed song, "As God Is My Witness (I'll Never Drink Again)" has seen brisk sales on iTunes every year around St. Patrick's Day.
